Verra Makes Successful Debut with Alliance Autosport

This past weekend Ryan Verra of Calgary, Alb., made his SCCA Saferacer National Club Racing debut at the Tom Nehl National held at Roebling Road with Alliance Autosport. This was also Verra’s first race in the very competitive Formula Enterprises class.

The weekend started out wet, with steady rains that kept the track wet during the majority of the Friday test day. Verra was able to adapt quickly to the treacherous conditions on the very high speed Roebling Road circuit, and ran some very fast laps by the end of the test day. The rain was even heavier for official practice and qualifying on Saturday. Verra ran very well in both official practice and qualifying, and was one of only a few drivers to keep the car on track all day. At the close of qualifying, Verra qualified the No. 17 Alliance Autosport entry third in class, and seventh overall in the 16 car race group. On Sunday, Verra put in a solid run in the 23 lap dry race, and ended up fourth in class.

“Ryan’s performance was impressive, especially considering his limited seat time in this type of car,” stated Alliance Autosport Team Manager Suren Tchobanian. “Ryan ran exceptionally in the rain and would have certainly been in the top three in the race if he would have been able to get some dry laps in the car before the race.”

Verra’s racing background includes numerous top-10 finishes in the Skip Barber F2000 Series and the F1000 Championship Series. He is also an entrepreneur trained in mixed martial arts. Verra’s sponsors and supporters include Capto Scientia, Enemy Sport, Toshi, and the Cancer Research Society. More information about Ryan is available at http://www.verrasport.com
