Rettich Remains Driver to Beat in Mosport Qualifying

Scott Rettich continued his early season mastery of the SCCA Pro Racing Formula Enterprises Series on Friday morning (May 20), earning the pole position for Round Three at Mosport International Raceway. Earning a place alongside the Alliance Autosport racer on the front-row for race one the Canadian doubleheader was JAY Motorsports’ Patrick Gallagher.

With the FE Pro racers already acclimatized to the high-speed Mosport road course via a promoter’s test day one day earlier, it was not long before some quick laps began appearing on the timing monitors in qualifying. In a repeat of the opening event in Virginia, the battle for the Round Three pole position featured Rettich, Gallagher and JAY Motorsports’ Jason Wolfe posting the quickest laps throughout the 30-minute run. Rettich, the current championship leader and reigning SCCA National Champion, in the end remained the driver everyone is chasing, earning his third consecutive pole position via a fast lap of 1:20.255. Rookies Gallagher and Wolfe continued to impress series on-lookers by turning the second third best times, while JAY Motorsports teammates Matt Schneider and Eric Fagan completed the top-five in the opening qualifying session.

The SCCA Pro Racing Formula Enterprises Series racers return to action after the lunch break on Friday (May 20), with a second 30-minute qualifying run at Mosport International Raceway, setting the grid for Round Four.
