Alliance Autosport Victorious at VIR
Alliance Autosport and team driver Scott Rettich recently visited Virginia International Raceway to compete in the SCCA Double National. The team quickly returned to their winnings ways, taking the pole for both races and taking the victory in both race one and two in the Formula Enterprises class.
The race weekend started off well with Rettich qualifying first in the strong field of 13 Formula Enterprises competitors. He battled early with Paul Schneider before eventually pulling away and taking the win in race one. The conditions for race two were quite different, as the 40 car field of formula cars and sports racers had to contend with heavy rains and standing water throughout the race. Rettich again started the race from the pole and took the race win with an incredible performance in which he moved up from his 18th place starting position overall to finish first in class and fifth overall.
“It was a great weekend for the Alliance Autosport team and I,” stated Scott Rettich. “The team gave me a very fast car all weekend in both wet and dry conditions. It feels really good to come away with two wins! We love competing at Virginia International Raceway and we are very excited to come back in September to run the Grand Course in USF2000 with ALMS!”
