Alliance Autosport to Enter Rolex GT Competition

Alliance Autosport announces its entry into Grand-Am Rolex GT competition. The team based in Columbus Ohio will run a limited schedule in 2011 starting with the Watkins Glen round in preparation for competing full time in 2012. The team will be campaigning a 2009 Porsche GT3 Grand-Am Cup Car in the famous Porsche hybrid livery. The ex-TRG Porsche last saw competition as the #4 TRG Children’s Tumor Foundation car in the 2011 Rolex 24 Hour race and finished on the podium in the 2010 running of the Rolex 24 Hour race.

“We are very excited to enter the series,” stated Alliance Autosport Team Manager Suren Tchobanian. “We have been looking to enter the series for a few years and after winning a SCCA National Championship and a SCCA Pro Racing Championship last year we felt like it was time to move into Grand-Am competition. Also, after watching our lead driver Scott Rettich compete in this year’s Rolex 24 Hour race we knew we needed to have our own car in the race in 2012.”

“It was great to get back behind the wheel of a Grand-Am GT car,” stated Scott Rettich. “I had never driven a Porsche before we started our testing program this year and I was surprised at how easy I was able to adapt and lay down consistent competitive laps. We knew that TRG’s cars are fast and very reliable and it was great to confirm that on our own in testing.”

The team has just finished up testing the car and is in final preparation for Watkins Glen. The driver line-up for Alliance Autosport’s Grand-Am program has not been finalized. Drivers interested in competing with Alliance Autosport in Grand-Am should contact Scott Rettich (goallianceautosport@gmail.com; 937-604-6519).

Alliance Autosport has had an incredible amount of success so far in 2011 with Scott Rettich behind the wheel. The team has accumulated numerous wins and podium finishes and currently leads both SCCA Pro Racing Championships it competes in. Also, Scott Rettich not only leads both SCCA Club Racing classes he competes in, but is also the Super Sweep overall point leader, accumulating the most points of any SCCA Club Racing driver in 2011.

Alliance Autosport competes throughout North America at many major road racing venues. With multiple championships, including a SCCA National Championship and a SCCA Pro Racing Championship, the team has found success at each level it has competed. Currently the team is competing in SCCA National, SCCA Pro Racing, and Grand Am Rolex series events. More information about the team is available at https://www.allianceautosport.com
