Scott Rettich prepares for Rolex 24 At Daytona debut

Scott Rettich, the 2010 Formula Enterprises SCCA National Champion and SCCA Pro Racing Spec Racer Ford Champion, has successfully completed testing at the Roar before the 24 test at the famed Daytona International Speedway. Scott, who had never driven at Daytona or driven a car with a roof, completed 50 trouble free laps in the Racers Edge Motorsports Mazda RX-8. “The car is a lot of fun to drive. Even though the car is heavier and much more powerful than the cars I am used to racing, I really did not have to change my driving technique too much. After my first few laps, I was comfortable with the car and able to focus on fine tuning my line and adjusting the cockpit adjustable anti-roll bars,” stated Rettich. “I would like to thank Racers Edge Motorsports for giving me the opportunity to compete in such a big race against many of the best drivers in the world. I would also like to thank my parents and my sponsors, PDI Communication Systems and Springboro Car Wash, for supporting me.”

Racers Edge Motorsports Team Owner Jon Mirachi was definitely impressed with Scott’s performance. “Scott is a real talent and I sought him out to help us compete for the win. He has accomplished great things already in his young career and I felt he would be the perfect addition to our team, with both the talent and racing experience to take on the World’s best drivers. Despite being new to a GT car, his performance at the test was outstanding,” enthused Mirachi.
