Suren Tchobanian-Team Manager
Suren has been involved in racing for many years as a driver, mechanic, and team manager. Suren has 7 years experience as a race team manager and in 2010 led the team to a SCCA National Championship and a SCCA Pro Racing Championship. Suren is also a very skilled mechanic building multiple Spec Racer Fords and Formula Enterprise cars from the ground up. Outside of racing Suren spent 12 years in construction as a project manager overseeing many multi-million dollar construction projects. Suren also has experience as a business owner, running his own construction debris disposal business.
Joe Heretta-Crew Chief
Between watching his father race, competing himself, and working on race cars, Joe has been in racing for over 30 years. Joe has been the Spec Racer Ford program manager since 2010 and has overseen Scott Rettich win the 2010 SCCA Pro Racing SRF Championship, the 2010 SRF June Sprints, and the 2011 SRF June Sprints in one of his cars. Joe has also led his pit crew to multiple SCCA Nelson Ledges 12 Hour and 24 Hour class victories. Joe is also a skilled welder, machinist, and fabricator. Before joining the team full time Joe ran a successful landscape business for over 10 years.
Al Hostettler-Engineer/Data
Al has spent over 20 years in racing. He has worked on and engineered multiple types of winged and non-winged formula cars and sports racers. Al was the crew chief on the 2010 SCCA National Championship/Super Sweep/Triple Crown winning Formula Enterprises car. Al’s skills include car setup, data acquisition and analysis, video, and radio communication. Al also has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue and has over 30 years of experience in Aerospace Design.
Ray Rivard-Engineer/Strategy
Ray brings 27 years of racing experience to the team. He has performed in the role of driver, mechanic, strategist, and team engineer. Most recently, he has contributed to the team’s success including titles in SCCA Pro Spec Racer Ford, SCCA Formula Enterprise National Championship/Super Sweep/Triple Crown, and multiple Nelson Ledges 12 Hour and 24 Hour wins as both an engineer and strategist.
Ray also has 28 years of experience as an automotive engineer including positions in Vehicle Dynamics, Vehicle Development, and Chassis Engineering. His experience developing vehicles real-time as well as virtually has carried over well to the racing world and has been a solid foundation to the development of cars in the production, sports racer and formula classes with success at every level.
